About this release
Flair's Chasin' The Rain returns through Heels & Souls, pairing the vocal version with its dub. Originally released in 1988 on Champion, the track brings Janet Rose's voice together with heavy bass, swinging synthesizers and gated snares. Rose, also known as JB Rose, worked alongside Joe Matz, Peter Bielig and Peter Shindler, linking a UK street soul sensibility with the group's German studio background. The production blends soul and synth-pop influences across both versions. For this reissue, Sean P restored a mint record copy after the master tapes could not be located, with Cicely Balston handling the remaster.
