Gloria Scott - (A Case Of) Too Much Lovemakin'

Selector Series pairs two performances from Gloria Scott’s What Am I Gonna Do album on this seven-inch release. Produced by Barry White, the recordings place Scott’s expressive lead vocals within rich instrumental arrangements. (A Case Of) Too Much Lovemakin’ takes the A-side, with the album’s opening title track on the reverse. The pairing brings together two sides of the same sessions, with Scott’s phrasing and White’s production giving both songs a shared musical character. Presented as a two-track single, the release focuses on the voice and arrangements that established the album’s place in modern soul.
