About this release
I Am Never Gonna Break His Rules Again pairs Guitar Ray's blues and gospel-influenced recording with You're Gonna Wreck My Life. Released through Senator Jones' Shagg label in New Orleans, the two songs show different aspects of his work: a reflective first side and a soul recording on the reverse that later reached the wider collector scene. This 7-inch reissue brings the original pairing back to the Shagg label, presenting both songs in a straightforward single format. The record connects local New Orleans production with the soul audiences who continued to play and collect these recordings.
