About this release
Harlem Underground Band's Smokin' Cheeba-Cheeba pairs with Mighty Tom Cats' Dance Girl on this Paul Winley Records 7-inch. The A-side became part of the UK rare groove repertoire, combining a loose funk rhythm with organ and vocals. Dance Girl brings a more uptempo break to the reverse, a groove later sampled by The Roots and Large Professor. Together, the tracks connect the label's funk and soul catalogue with the breaks that fed into hip-hop production. This edition is pressed on orange vinyl with a large centre hole and housed in a branded Paul Winley sleeve.
