About this release
Doctrine Of Love follows Jalen Ngonda's Come Around And Love Me, developing its classic soul foundations with a stronger pop sensibility and broader orchestral arrangements. Warm horns and gospel-influenced backing vocals surround his lead voice, while rawer textures and steady grooves keep the songs grounded. Ngonda centres the album on compassion, treating love as a guiding principle that runs through both the writing and performances. The result balances melodic immediacy with emotional weight, extending the sound of his debut across a collection of ten songs. Daptone Records presents the album here on its clear vinyl edition.
