About this release
Emergency on Planet Earth introduces Jamiroquai’s blend of funk, soul and acid jazz, with Jay Kay’s vocals leading a rhythm-focused band sound. Originally released in 1993, the debut followed the group’s first single, When You Gonna Learn, and brings that song together with Too Young To Die, Blow Your Mind and the title track. Hooked Up and If I Like It, I Do It keep the grooves direct, while Music Of The Mind gives the instrumental playing more room. Revolution 1993 stretches out on the final side before Didgin’ Out closes the album, linking its danceable arrangements to a broader musical palette.
