About this release
Lady Wray's Cover Girl brings a celebratory focus to the singer's third Big Crown album, with love, family, faith and self-care shaping its songs. Reunited with producer Leon Michels, she moves between the warmth of sixties and seventies soul, disco rhythms and the textures of nineties R&B and hip-hop, with gospel running through the record. “My Best Step” and “Time” reflect on her relationship, while the title track turns towards the work of finding herself again. The Fabulous Rainbow Singers add a choral presence, helping connect the album's intimate themes with its more expansive moments. This edition presents the eleven-track album on black vinyl.
