McKenzie & Gardiner - Completely (OG Redux)

UK funk veterans McKenzie & Gardiner are best known for their 1983 boogie classic "From Time" and their 1980s compilation album "Timestamp : The Collection". Since reuniting in 2020, they've released 10 singles including two "OG Redux" fresh interpretations of 1980s fan favourites reuniting with the original guest singers. Both are included now on this must-have 7".

Side A delivers the sultry boogie swagger of "Completely (OG Redux)" featuring singer Mick Mullane with its aching male vocal and humid, throbbing bass. Flip it over for the smooth, soulful "Hold On Tight (OG Redux)" featuring Shelley Hicks which sold out immediately on previous limited run 7" in France. Played and produced by Clive Gardiner who says, "we used lockdown to get the gang back together, and we've never sounded better." Hard to argue with that.
