About this release
Come To My Garden places Minnie Riperton’s voice within richly arranged songs that draw together soul and jazz. The album follows her work with Rotary Connection and features musicians including Ramsey Lewis, Phil Upchurch and Cleveland Eaton. Les Fleur opens with a gradual build before Completeness and the title track, with Memory Band and Rainy Day In Centerville completing the first side. Close Your Eyes And Remember begins the second half, which moves through Oh, By The Way and Expecting towards Whenever, Wherever. Riperton’s range and the care of the arrangements give the album its distinctive, expansive character.
