About this release
Melbourne ten-piece Mondo Freaks brings live instrumentation and vocal arrangements to a sound rooted in late-1970s and early-1980s funk and boogie. Built around bassist Luke Hodgson and drummer Graeme Pogson, the group developed from a repertoire of funk and disco songs into original material. This four-track EP pairs the single edit of “Bells Are Ringing” with “Find A Way”, whose percussion and synth hook supports Jade MacRae’s vocals. On the reverse, Harvey Sutherland supplies both vocal and dub treatments of the title track, extending its rhythm section and reverb into a more spacious dancefloor arrangement.
