About this release
Just My Luck / Tomorrow Man presents two contrasting sides of Obongjayar’s songwriting on a September Recordings 7-inch. Just My Luck combines a danceable pop arrangement with a dreamlike atmosphere, reflecting on loneliness through its light, melodic setting. Tomorrow Man turns towards a more forceful percussive sound, addressing laziness with a different rhythmic intensity. The pairing brings those moods together in a compact double single, following the singer’s debut album Some Nights I Dream Of Doors. Across the two tracks, Obongjayar’s voice links the more buoyant opening song with the sharper, rhythm-led character of the reverse.
