About this release
Peki Momés’ self-titled debut pairs her Turkish vocals with psychedelic funk, disco and melodic pop, shaped by producer Dustin Braun and an ensemble of jazz musicians. Fuzzy guitars, experimental synths and library-music textures sit alongside the lighter touch of city pop, giving the songs a dreamlike character without losing their rhythmic drive. Her lyrics approach dreams, uncertainty and solidarity with a hopeful outlook, while the arrangements move between hazy atmosphere and danceable grooves. Flute, keyboards, percussion and steel pans add colour around the vocal lines. This third pressing presents the album on black vinyl, distinct from the earlier editions of the Mocambo release.
