Saucy Lady / Slynk - Love Telepathy

Since first joining forces three years ago, Boston-based Japanese electrofunk revivalist Saucy Lady and long-serving funkateer Slynk have developed a productive studio partnership. Here they return with a third joint single. As you'd probably expect from the pair, 'Love Telepathy' is a find slab of colourful boogie revivalism in which Saucy Lady's bilingual lead vocals rise above squelchy synth-bass, p-funk squiggles, punchy drum machine beats and deliciously dreamy chords. Over on side B, U-Key remixes, re-imagining the track as a fusion of cheery Japanese city-pop, mid-80s synth-pop and horn-toting jazz-funk. It even includes an elongated, eyes-closed guitar solo of the sort usually found in mid 80s, big studio rock records.
