About this release
The Tibbs' third album Keep It To Yourself brings twelve original songs to Record Kicks, with Roxanne Hartog leading the Dutch band's vocals. Produced by Paul Willemsen and mastered in Nashville by Bob Olhsson, the recordings draw on 1960s soul while giving the rhythm and horn sections plenty of space. Ain't It Funny opens with a brisk stomp; Can't Teach An Old Dog New Tricks and Chicken Bones lean into New Orleans funk. Give Me A Reason adds a Northern Soul feel, while In Orbit closes with a gentler ballad. The arrangements keep the band's organ, guitar, bass, drums and three-piece horns closely connected.
