About this release
Thee Sacred Souls’ self-titled debut brings the San Diego trio’s sweet soul sound to a twelve-song album produced by Daptone co-founder Gabriel Roth. Josh Lane’s vocals sit over the bass and drums of Sal Samano and Alex Garcia, with an analogue recording approach that connects the warmth of 1960s soul to early 1970s rhythm and blues. Chicano, Philly, Chicago, Memphis and Panama influences shape the music without crowding the songs. Can I Call You Rose? and Weak For Your Love sit alongside Future Lover, For Now and Love Comes Easy, balancing unhurried grooves with direct melodies. Released through Daptone and Penrose, this is the standard black-vinyl edition.
