About this release
Hannah Holland and The Carry Nation share this two-track 12" for Batty Bass Records, with “Paris Acid Ball” on the A-side and “This Bitch Is Alive” on the reverse. It gives an early part of the Batty Bass catalogue a vinyl outing within the label’s relaunch.
Holland originally produced “Paris Acid Ball” in Berlin in 2010, drawing on weekends at Panorama Bar and summers spent playing at Glastonbury’s NYC Downlow. Inspired by Paris Is Burning, introduced to her by Jonny Woo, the track pays tribute to ballroom culture and queer nightlife. Alongside The Carry Nation’s contribution, the release connects that club history to the enduring energy of the dancefloor.
