Julie Brannen - I'll Be Good To You

While Italo-house of the early to mid 1990s was a distinctive sound, it owed a great deal to NYC and NJ garage-house, with many of the finest records being closer in sound and feel to their American counterparts than the country's earlier 'dream house' wave (think Sueno Latino and Don Carlos). Julie Brannen's 1993 gem, reissued here for the first time by Groovin', is a fantastic example of this.

It brings together the three most loved of the numerous remixes that appeared at the time. The Italian production team behind its own 'Deep is Good Mix' - an organ-rich slab of tactile and rolling garage-house deepness - is accompanied by two vintage Kerri Chandler tweaks: the warm, breezy, colourful and jazzy 'Feel mix', no doubt an anthem at NYC's Shelter club, and the bouncier, organ-rich '6:23 Again mix'.
