About this release
Beyond Brazilian Stories brings Brazilian traditions and jazz improvisation together on O Ritmo Do Sonho. Founded by pianist Mathieu Bélis and double bassist Stéphane Dardour, the quintet combines familiar melodies with its own compositions and expansive instrumental passages.
The thirteen-track album includes ‘Para Lennon & McCartney’, ‘Casa Forte’, ‘Xibaba’ and ‘April Child’, alongside the title piece. Mariana Zwarg, Edmundo Carneiro and Jessica Simon contribute flute, percussion and trombone, extending the group’s musical palette. Presented across two vinyl records in a gatefold sleeve on BSP Productions.
