Don Cherry & Jean Schwarz - Roundtrip - Live at Théatre Récamier - Paris (1977)

Don Cherry and electro-acoustic composer Jean Schwarz meet in a previously unpublished concert recording from the 1977 MIX festival at Paris's Théâtre Récamier. Organised by G.R.M. and hosted by François Bayle, the performance brings the pair together with Jean-François Jenny-Clark, Nana Vasconcelos and Michel Portal. Spiritual jazz and electronic sound share the same space, with a sequence that moves through Doussn' Gouni, bell pieces and Berimbau before closing with Tribute to Ornette. Transversales Disques recovered the recording from Schwarz's personal archives after more than 45 years. This edition was remastered from the original master tapes and includes photographs and liner notes.
