Raw Tones brings Joaquin Joe Claussell's soulful house music to Rekids across nine tracks. Originally circulated on limited cassettes, the recordings reached Radio Slave, who encouraged Claussell to give them a wider release. The result moves between introspective textures and more direct club material without losing its loose, exploratory character.

Lock Down opens with strings and pads before the low-slung Blame Game introduces jazzy keys and dub space. Break Free appears in vocal and instrumental forms, while Air We Breathe combines percussion and live bass. The double LP closes with If It's All In Your Mind Let It Out and the slower Hallucinations Ejaculations.
