Steve Monite - Only You

Soundway returns to the Nigerian boogie explored on Doing It In Lagos with this licensed reissue of Steve Monite’s debut album. Originally released in 1984, Only You brings synthesiser lines and persistent dancefloor grooves together under producer Nkono Teles. The title track has since reached a much wider audience, while 'Things Fall Apart' supplied the melody heard in Young Franco’s 'Fallin’ Apart'. Across six tracks, the LP includes vocal and disco-jam versions alongside 'I Had A Dream' and 'Welcome My Love', giving a fuller picture of an album that received little attention on its original release.
