About this release
AOI: Bionix continues De La Soul’s Art Official Intelligence project with songs that move through relationships, fatherhood and social commentary. Baby Phat features Yummy Bingham and Devin The Dude, while Cee-Lo joins Held Down and Slick Rick appears on What We Do (For Love). Reverend Do Good interludes connect several parts of the sequence, with the final sketch leading into the J Dilla-produced Peer Pressure. The album balances those guest performances with the trio’s own observations and exchanges. This Chrysalis double-LP edition presents the eighteen-track programme, including the interludes and the closing Trying People.
