Player - Player Twenty Six

Player Twenty Six returns with three tracks remastered for this vinyl reissue. The record connects driving techno with disco loops and the cut-up approach of hip-hop sampling, using short repeated phrases as the basis for its grooves. On the B-side’s first track, chopped guitar figures meet a bouncing funk bassline, setting out the release’s balance of mechanical repetition and dancefloor swing. The series grew from a UK collective involving Jon Nuccle, Mike Humphries and Mark Turner, with this entry retaining that meeting of techno pressure and funk-derived rhythm.
