About this release
Holsten draws on the tense, stripped-down energy of techstep across this return to Droogs. Burn opens with heavy bass and hard-stepping drums, while Service Kru introduces Amen breaks, sharply edited rhythms, martial-arts samples and rave stabs. Twisted Music keeps the pressure simmering through a more restrained, uneasy arrangement. Overlook closes the EP with a remix of Projectiles, pushing its dystopian atmosphere into a forceful final stretch. The four tracks connect the Bristol producer’s drum & bass sound with the darker edges of the genre’s nineties history.
