About this release
Mike Skinner's second album as The Streets brings observations of everyday life into a production style shaped by UK garage, hip-hop and electronic rhythms. Originally released in 2004, A Grand Don't Come For Free follows the conversational delivery established on Original Pirate Material, with songs that move through relationships, nights out and moments of reflection. Blinded By The Lights, Fit But You Know It and Dry Your Eyes sit within the eleven-track programme, which begins with It Was Supposed To Be So Easy and closes with Empty Cans. This double-vinyl edition presents the complete album across four sides.
