About this release
Ten Years of GALA brings together artists connected with the South London festival for a compilation curated by Tim Garcia and Giles Napier. Charlie Dark’s spoken Foundation & History roots the record in Peckham before the music moves into club territory. Contributions from Joe Armon-Jones and Maxwell Owin, Dreamcastmoe and Marcellus Pittman sit alongside tracks by Manami, KiNK with Rachel Row, Amaliah and Call Super. House, UK garage and techno form part of a selection that makes room for reflective passages as well as more physical rhythms. Yu Su, Suze Ijó, NIKS and Chaos In The CBD complete the picture of the festival’s first decade.
