About this release
Future marked Inner City’s return to new material in 2011, bringing Kevin Saunderson, Ann Saunderson and Paris Grey together with Kenny Larkin and Orlando Voorn. The song connects Detroit’s electronic production language with the vocal energy of R&B and gospel. This Defected reissue gathers Kenny Larkin’s Tension Mix, MK’s AW Deep Dub and Carl Craig’s C2 Edit, offering three treatments of the same recording. Larkin’s version sits alongside an MK dub previously issued on a single-sided white label, with Craig’s edit completing the set. The selection traces different approaches to the track’s meeting of house, techno and vocals.
