Main Attraction - Jam Up

Main Attraction emerged from the University of the West Indies in Jamaica during the late 1970s, combining reggae songs with soulful ballads and group harmonies. Jam Up was their first original recording, composed and arranged by Sonia Copeland and performed during the 1978 Carnival Reggae Song Competition. With Sharon Jones taking the lead vocal, the song calls for collective progress and unity in Jamaica. Jamwax brings it back on a 7 inch with Jam Down on the reverse, presenting both sides of the release. The reissue's artwork is by Florian Weigel, with licensing credited to BMG and Sonia Copeland.
