About this release
Mato and Ethel Lindsey revisit Toto’s ‘Georgy Porgy’ in two languages for their third single together on Stix Records. Mato’s reggae production places the song in a different rhythmic setting, while Lindsey’s singing retains a connection to its AOR and blue-eyed soul roots. The A-side presents the English version; the reverse draws on Dwight Druick’s French-language interpretation from the album Tanger. Following their covers of ‘What You Won’t Do for Love’ and ‘Baby Come Back’, the pairing continues their exploration of familiar songs through reggae arrangements, bringing the English and French recordings together on one 7-inch.
