About this release
The first Disco Reggae collection connects Stix's reggae-cover approach with artists from the wider Favorite Recordings catalogue. Taggy Matcher, The Dynamics, John Milk, Blundetto and Grandmagneto reinterpret songs associated with Herbie Hancock, Madonna, Justin Timberlake, The Commodores and other writers and performers. Chameleon and Money open the LP before Music and Brick House complete the first side. The reverse moves from Suit & Tie and Everybody's Talkin to Rapper's Delight, Move On Up and Saturday Night Fever. The nine-track programme brings disco, pop and soul material into reggae and dub settings, with the individual versions credited in the tracklist.
