About this release
Disco Reggae Volume Two brings nine reinterpretations together on Stix, Favorite Recordings' reggae-focused label. Taggy Matcher opens with Watermelon Man, followed by 7 Samuraï's versions of Lucas Arruda's Sambadi and The Joubert Singers' Stand On The Word. The reverse includes John Milk's The Fool, Mr. Day's Queen Of The Minstrels and Mato's takes on Happy and I'll Do Anything For You, before Grandmagneto closes with Tainted Love. The compilation connects reggae rhythms and dub production with disco, soul and jazz-funk material. This LP presents the complete nine-track selection, with performer and mix credits listed for each recording.
