About this release
Mirage is Glass Beams' debut release for Research Records, recorded at the beginning of 2020 and first released in 2021. Its four compositions draw on Indian classical music, disco and pop alongside psychedelic guitar, synth textures and rhythmic instrumental arrangements. The title track combines a repeating vocal motif with bass and keyboards, while Taurus brings a sharper rhythmic pace and cinematic character. Kong develops the record's guitar-led fusion sound before Rattlesnake closes the programme. The EP's layered arrangements connect the group's musical influences through recurring melodic phrases and grooves rather than conventional verse-and-chorus songwriting.
