About this release
Onward International’s Foot In The Door returns on Jazz Room Records as a three-track ten-inch. A horn-led meeting of Brit funk and acid jazz, the title track draws on the sound of London’s session musicians and the club culture that embraced those recordings.
‘Samba Doo Bonnay’ adds Brazilian boogie and batucada rhythms, while ‘21st Floor Mambo’ closes with a Latin jazz flourish. Together, the three cuts trace the connection between live musicianship, percussion and dancefloor momentum.
