About this release
Carlos Franzetti combines Latin jazz, funk and soul on Graffiti, recorded in 1977. He plays the keyboards, writes the compositions and handles the arrangements, joined by musicians including percussionist Ray Mantilla, bassist Victor Venegas and Dick Meza from Tito Puente's orchestra. Beatriz opens with a jazz-led feel, while Cocoa Funk puts the rhythmic side further forward and the title track brings the Latin jazz elements together. This Jazz Room Records reissue returns the album to its original single-record format, presenting the interplay between Franzetti's keyboard writing and the ensemble's percussion, bass and horn colours across the complete programme.
