About this release
JJ Whitefield explores raw funk, psychedelia, breakbeats and krautrock on Puzzled, a thirteen-track album for Broc Recordz. The Munich musician brings experience from Poets Of Rhythm, Karl Hector and The Whitefield Brothers to a varied set of instrumentals and vocal pieces.
Charif Megarbane and Yavor Lilov contribute to “Dawn Of Delphi”, while Angela Aux supplies vocals and guitar on “Raised With Fire”. Johannes Schleiermacher plays flute, Yukiko Kato adds shamisen to “Mukōgawa”, and Thomas Lea arranges strings for “Holy Daze”. King Khan and Jarrah Al Attasi sing on “Wellness”. Recorded, mixed and produced by Whitefield, the album features cover art by Jason Jagel.
