About this release
Olivia Dean’s debut album brings her conversational songwriting into a full-length collection concerned with love, loss and the uncertainties between them. Released by EMI in 2023, Messy includes Danger and UFO alongside Dive, The Hardest Part and the closing Carmen. Dean’s approach draws on soul and pop without fixing every song to the same arrangement, allowing her voice and direct observations to connect the different moods. Shorter pieces such as Getting There (Interlude) and I Could Be A Florist sit within the twelve-track sequence. This vinyl edition presents the album in its original running order.
