Arjuna Oakes - The Love That I Feel

Arjuna Oakes’s ‘The Love That I Feel’ explores the difficulty of putting emotions into words, with shifting chords shaping the song’s uneasy lyrical perspective. The New Zealand singer and musician writes and produces the recording, adding vocals, keyboards and synthesizers alongside saxophonist Louisa Williamson, drummer Sam Notman, bassist Harrison Scholes and guitarist Jo Jenkins. Callum Mower, also known as Serebii, handles mixing and co-production, with mastering by Kelly Hibbert. Albert’s Favourites pairs the song with the downtempo ‘Mallet Groove’ on the reverse of this 7-inch, presenting two contrasting pieces from Oakes’s soul-and-jazz world.
