Bassline Featuring Lorraine Chambers - You've Gone

Bassline was the studio project of south-east London musician Tony Henry, with Lorraine Chambers providing the voice on You've Gone. Originally issued as a white-label 12-inch in 1989, it belongs to the British street-soul meeting point between home-studio electronics, reggae bass and soul songwriting.

Chambers' vocal sits over synths, electric piano and drum-machine rhythms, with a bassline that carries the track's reggae connection. Isle Of Jura's reissue pairs You've Gone with an alternate mix and Back To Bass-ics. The three-track selection gives both the song and its accompanying versions room on this 12-inch.
