About this release
Favorite Recordings pairs two selections from Charles Maurice’s French Disco Boogie Sounds compilations on this 7-inch. Crystal’s 'Funky Biguine' brings West Indian influences into a synth-bass-led funk arrangement, with a closing synthesiser solo. On the reverse, Réunion group J.E.K.Y.S contributes 'Looking For You', an English-language boogie song built around bass, keyboards and Fender Rhodes. The pairing links two island perspectives on French boogie, with each side retaining its own identity and artwork. It brings the tracks from volumes two and three of the compilation series into a compact release of their own.
