About this release
David Walters connects his West Indian heritage with electronic production on Soul Tropical, singing in Creole across a set that draws on soul, disco, zouk and Afrobeat. Tom Excell, known for his work with Nubyan Twist, Onipa and K.O.G, produces, with Captain Planet handling the mix. The guest list ranges from K.O.G and Flavia Coelho to Anthony Joseph, Ballaké Sissoko and Vincent Segal, reflecting the record’s broad musical conversation. This Heavenly Sweetness double LP includes the Captain Planet Disco Edit of No One and the complete 13-track vinyl programme.
