About this release
What Happened To The Beach? is Declan McKenna's third studio album, produced by Gianluca Buccellati and released through Columbia in 2024. Following Zeros, the record takes a looser approach to pop and indie songwriting, with space and atmosphere shaping the arrangements. Sympathy and Nothing Works sit within a vinyl programme that also includes Elevator Hum, Mulholland's Dinner And Wine and The Phantom Buzz (Kick In). The physical edition contains all three Mystery Planet interludes alongside the main songs. This Sun Yellow LP presents the sixteen-track sequence across two sides, including 4 More Years and the closing Mystery Planet Pt. 3.
