About this release
Lee Tracy’s Is It What You Want pairs his vocal with Casio accompaniment from Isaac Manning. Recorded to cassette on the outskirts of Nashville, the song has a spare, homemade sound, with repeating synth figures and a steady programmed rhythm behind Tracy’s delivery. Athens Of The North pairs it with the duo’s interpretation of Saving All My Love For You, a markedly different reading of the song associated with Whitney Houston. The seven-inch brings the two recordings together, keeping the focus on their intimate vocal performances and distinctive approach to soul.
