About this release
Michele Mininni’s debut album ‘Pop Archetypes’ brings broken beats, jazz rhythms, live drums and electronic textures into a fifteen-track sequence. Rather than treating the pieces as separate singles, Mininni conceived them as connected scenes within one compact album. ‘Spinning Around Cotton Candy’ opens with tumbling drums and synthesizers, while ‘Golden Room’ and ‘Slipped Air’ explore melodic, off-centre rhythms. ‘Vertigo’ introduces piano and refracted vocals, ‘Bangkok Tempo’ folds string melodies into a jungle interlude, and ‘The Magic Of Synesthesia’ places flute against Amen breaks. Released by Hell Yeah Recordings, the album closes with the spacious melodies and pads of ‘Carousel Of Tears’.
