About this release
Simon Marlin brings a cast of vocalists together for Let Loose, his Shapeshifters album on Glitterbox. Kimberly Davis, Teni Tinks, Joss Stone and Billy Porter join a project rooted in disco and vocal house, with Marlin working in the producer-as-bandleader tradition he associates with Quincy Jones and Gamble & Huff. The triple-vinyl edition gives the songs room through club and extended versions, including 'Life Is A Dancefloor' and 'Finally Ready'. Ramona Renea, Fiorious, Adi Oasis and Obi Franky also feature, making collaboration the thread through twelve tracks of contemporary dancefloor songwriting.
