About this release
The Yussef Dayes Experience's Live From Mt. Fuji captures a meeting between the drummer's live ensemble and Minami Kizuki, the vocalist and sanshin player from Amami Island. The sessions bring familiar material and new compositions together, with Kizuki joining the group on “Amami” and “Fuji Yama”. Dayes' regular collaborators Venna, Rocco Palladino and Elijah Fox also take part, helping shape a performance rooted in close listening and collective interplay. This standard black vinyl edition presents the music on its own, without the spoken commentary of Mt. Fuji FM, across seven tracks ending with “The Colour Purple”.
