About this release
Numero 95 explores the overlap between early computer music, smooth jazz and new age through eight recordings from the Numero Group archive. The compilation follows musicians working with electronic instruments and home recording, capturing an era of synthesised textures that later listeners might recognise as a precursor to vaporwave.
Quiet Force, Barry Coates & The Hats and Andrew Gordon lead the first side, while the reverse includes Slap & Powell, Jordan De La Sierra and Jessie Allen Cooper. Packaged around the visual world of floppy disks and early computing, this clear vinyl edition gives the music's technological setting a physical counterpart.
