About this release
John Gómez and Nick the Record draw on their London party Tangent for a compilation that moves between disco, boogie, dub and house. Established in 2014, the night centres on its two resident DJs and an open approach to musical direction. Their selections connect Srirajah Sound System’s Molam dub with King B.’s hip-house, Kajou’s kompa disco and the Caribbean-influenced sound of Champagn’. Androo and Urban Volcano Sounds bring contemporary recordings into conversation with older dancefloor material. Mr Bongo’s black double-vinyl edition presents fifteen tracks, tracing the connections that have shaped the residents’ shared approach behind the decks.
