About this release
Recorded at Philadelphia’s Sigma Sound Studios with members of MFSB, William DeVaughn’s Be Thankful For What You Got grew from an earlier song called A Cadillac Don’t Come Easy. Released in 1974, its measured groove and encouraging message helped it travel well beyond its first audience. DeVaughn’s understated delivery sits comfortably within the arrangement, giving the song its lasting appeal across soul and disco sets. This Demon Singles Club 12-inch pairs the title track with Blood Is Thicker Than Water and presents the two recordings in a newly designed sleeve.
